- Abstract
- Graduates entering the hospitality industry often evaluate their preparedness to meet professional demands, necessitating a clear understanding of their employability skills and industry competencies. This study investigated the perceived readiness of Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) graduates, focusing on their employability skills, industry-specific competencies, and essential career preparedness attributes. This study aims to identify the level of these competencies, assess their influence on career readiness, and determine areas needing enhancement to align with industry expectations. This study employed a quantitative research approach integrating descriptive-correlational research design. 70 respondents were chosen through snowball sampling technique. This study took place in Ozamis City and utilized Employability Skills, Industry Competencies, and Career Preparedness Questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Mean, Standard Deviation, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient. Statistical analysis revealed significant correlations between generic skills and career preparedness, while industry-specific competencies showed varied influence, with problem-solving skills requiring targeted improvement. These insights suggest that integrating experiential learning opportunities and leadership development within the curriculum can bolster graduates’ readiness to meet the dynamic challenges of the hospitality industry. Enhancing problem-solving modules, fostering adaptability, and aligning competencies with industry trends are recommended to prepare graduates for successful careers in hospitality management.
