- Abstract
- As a transformative financial service provider in modern consumer finance, consumer credit has emerged as an increasingly relevant credit option for individuals seeking access to consumer goods and services. This study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design and use a quantitative approach to examine relationships between variables. The study was conducted in Ozamiz City, focusing on both teaching and non-teaching working professionals. There were 270 working individuals chosen through purposive sampling. Consumer Credit Engagement, Financial Management Behavior, and Hedonic Lifestyle Survey Questionnaires were used as instruments in gathering the data. Mean and Standard Deviation and Regression Analysis were used as data analysis. Working professionals in Ozamiz City demonstrate high consumer credit engagement. They also exhibit generally strong financial management behavior. A high hedonic lifestyle is evident, with individuals prioritizing emotional well-being. pleasure-seeking, social leisure activities, and moderate materialism. Findings revealed that consumer credit engagement significantly enhances financial management behavior, improving budgeting, spending control, and overall financial responsibility. Likewise, greater access to credit positively influences hedonic tendencies, encouraging lifestyle-oriented and consumption-driven behaviors. Future research is recommended to include larger samples, additional variables, and qualitative approaches to deepen understanding. Individuals are encouraged to practice disciplined budgeting, evaluate credit terms carefully, and balance hedonic desires with responsible financial planning to avoid long-term financial strain.
