Abstract

Accounting professional skills are vital in measuring individuals job performance and work engagement. This study investigated and measured the relationship of accounting professional skills with the job performance and work engagement of accounting professionals. This study utilized the descriptive-correlational research design conducted in private and government offices located in the eight Municipalities of the Province of Lanao Del Norte among 72 chosen respondents using convenience sampling. The study was conducted through individual distribution of questionnaires to the respondents in the selected municipalities of Lanao del Norte The Accounting Professional Skills Questionnaire, Respondents' Job Performance Questionnaire, and Respondents' Work Engagement Questionnaire were used to gather data. Frequency and Percentage Distribution, Weighted Mean and Standard Deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, and Regression Analysis were used as statistical tools. Results show that work ethics is the skill that significantly influences both job performance and work engagement among accounting professionals. The study concludes that a significant relationship exists between accounting professional skills, job performance, and work engagement. Firms must take action and focus on matters that can enhance the skills possessed by these accounting professionals to retain good performance and engagement that can add value to their overall job excellence.
