- Abstract
- This study examined the influence of food safety practices on customer confidence in casual dining restaurants in Ozamiz City. It explored the correlation between food safety practices, specifically hygienic standard procedures, and customer confidence. The objectives are to (1) determine the level of food safety practices in terms of hygienic standard procedures, (2) assess the level of customer confidence in terms of perceived food safety and trust, and (3) examine the significant relationship between food safety practices and customer confidence. These objectives aim to highlight how food safety influences customer loyalty and satisfaction. A quantitative-descriptive research design was employed. A structured questionnaire was distributed to 156 respondents from selected casual dining restaurants in Ozamiz City. Permission to collect data was obtained through letters sent to the management of the participating restaurants. The results show a significant positive correlation between food safety practices and customer confidence. Key factors such as adherence to food safety protocols and proper sanitation measures were found to strongly influence customer trust and satisfaction. Respondents indicated that visible food safety measures significantly boosted their confidence when dining. This study emphasizes the vital role of food safety practices in shaping customer perceptions. The findings offer practical insights for restaurant owners and policymakers, underscoring the need for stringent food safety practices to build customer trust, improve satisfaction, and ensure public health within the hospitality sector.
