- Abstract
- Financial well-being is an aspiration, particularly for working professionals managing the responsibilities of modern daily life. This study investigated the relationship between how an individual's personality traits and money attitudes influence the financial well-being of working professionals. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational design. Using a random sampling technique, 250 working professionals who lived in Ozamiz City were chosen as respondents. This study used a survey question with four sections, including demographic profile, personality traits, money attitude, and financial well-being, utilizing the Likert Scale technique questionnaire. Mean and standard deviation, frequency and percentage, Pearson correlation coefficient, and T-test were the statistical methods used. The study reveals that most working professionals possess very high levels of personality traits, a high level of money attitude, and a very high level of financial well-being. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between personality traits and financial well-being but no significant relationship between money attitude and financial well-being. Meanwhile, there is significant differences in financial well-being based on educational level but not on gender, status, or occupation. The study concludes that female, married, master's degree-holding professional teachers exhibit diverse personality traits, a strong financial mindset, high financial well-being despite high debt, a significant correlation between personality traits and financial well-being; however, there is no significant link between money attitude and financial well-being, and differences in financial well-being based on educational level. The researches recommend to develop targeted financial literacy, promote financial literacy programs, and prioritize educational attainment to improve financial well-being.
