- Abstract
- Motorcab drivers' perceptions, acceptability, and adaptability towards digital payments encompass several key elements that provide a comprehensive overview of the research. The respondents of the study were motorcab drivers from Ozamiz City, selected to represent a diverse demographic profile that includes various factors such as age, gender, educational attainment, marital status, income, living conditions, and work conditions, which are essential for understanding the different perspectives and experiences regarding digital payment systems. The methodology employed in this research involves a quantitative design, utilizing structured questionnaires specifically crafted to assess the drivers' perceptions, acceptability, and adaptability towards digital payment methods: These include the Motorcab Drivers Perception Questionnaire, which evaluates the perceived benefits and challenges of digital payments; the Motorcab Drivers Acceptability Questionnaire, which examines the drivers’ willingness to adopt these systems; and the Motorcab Drivers Adaptability Questionnaire, which assesses their readiness to adjust to the use of digital payment methods. To analyze the collected data, the study employs various statistical tools, including Mean and Standard Deviation, to evaluate the levels of perception, acceptability, and adaptability among the drivers. At the same time, the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient is utilized to examine the relationships between the variables. The results reveal that motorcab drivers perceive digital payments as convenient and advantageous but require improved security measures, tailored digital literacy programs, and simplified training resources to enhance trust and adaptability. Implementing Beep cards for motorcab drivers could simplify digital payments, encourage cashless transactions, and improve both passenger convenience and system security.
