- Abstract
- In today's rapidly evolving global economy, entrepreneurship is critical in driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth. Therefore, understanding the factors that shape entrepreneurial intentions and actions is crucial for fostering a new generation of successful entrepreneurs. This study examined the pivotal role of entrepreneurial behavior and personality traits in fostering entrepreneurial engagement among Business Administration graduates. Specifically, it explored how entrepreneurial self-efficacy, alertness, and proactive personality key components of entrepreneurial behavior, along with the Big Five personality traits, influence graduates' entrepreneurial intentions and actions. The study used a descriptive correlational design, and the data was collected from 76 Business Administration graduates from the school year 2019 – 2024 who were engaged in entrepreneurial activities in Ozamiz City. Mean and Standard Deviation were utilized to measure entrepreneurial behavior, personality traits, and entrepreneurial engagement, while the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient identified the extent of the relationships among these variables. The results demonstrate a significant positive correlation between entrepreneurial behavior and engagement and between personality traits and engagement. Graduates exhibit strong entrepreneurial traits, particularly in self-efficacy, alertness, and proactivity, alongside key personality dimensions like agreeableness, openness, and conscientiousness. The findings highlight that entrepreneurial success among graduates is highly influenced by a combination of behavior and personality traits, suggesting that educational institutions should further enhance these traits to foster entrepreneurial potential. This research contributes to understanding the role of personality and behavior in shaping entrepreneurial outcomes, offering valuable insights for academic institutions aiming to cultivate entrepreneurial skills in business graduates.
