Abstract

Graduates seeking employment usually assess their capabilities for a job, which is why their perception of their chosen field requires competence and employability. This study aimed to determine hospitality management graduates' career preparedness and employability skills. This study employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive correlational research design. The 91 respondents were chosen through purposive sampling. This study took place in Ozamis City utilizing the career preparedness and employability skills questionnaire. This study utilized the frequencies, percentages, and mean and standard deviation product-moment correlation coefficient statistical tools. BSHM graduates exhibit remarkably high personality traits and competence pertinent to career preparedness. The overall behavior of these graduates was rated very high, indicating a strong alignment. Teamwork emerged as the highest-rated skill. However, employability skills are associated with the graduate's proficiency across various aspects relevant to employability. Statistical analysis revealed non-normal data distributions for Career Preparedness and Employability Skills, indicated by p-values of .000, deviating significantly from a Gaussian pattern. The curriculum and professional development programs should continue to emphasize soft skills development. Incorporating activities and modules that foster interpersonal skills, adaptability, and effective communication can further enhance the graduates' readiness for successful careers in hospitality management.
