Abstract

Nursing education relies on retention policies to ensure academic rigor and program efficiency. However, the influence of these policies on the biopsychosocial well-being of nursing students remains understudied. Hence, this study looks at how the implementation of the retention policy affects the biological, psychological, and social status of the 116 third-year and fourth-year nursing students selected using Raosoft Software, of one of the higher education institutions in Ozamiz City. The study utilized a Quantitative-correlational research design. The data was collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. Mean and standard deviation were utilized to assess the respondents’ perceptions of the retention policy and their biopsychosocial status. Additionally, the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was employed to examine the relationship between these variables. The study found that respondents generally had a favorable impression of the retention policy, despite having areas of their biopsychosocial status that needs improvement. The respondents' perception of the retention policy was found to have a significant relationship with their biopsychosocial status. It is recommended for students to practice efficient time management, researchers include the entire nursing department population, and institutions to establish strong support systems to enhance the well-being and biopsychosocial health of students.
