- Abstract
- Work-life balance is an essential determinant of the personal health and professional success of security guards, yet it is also a recurring issue given the nature of their work. This research aims to investigate and examine how security guards balance professional duties and family responsibilities using a phenomenological approach. Data were collected from their actual experiences, noting strategies such as time management, family support, and personal resilience. Of these, family support and adaptive coping were found to be substantial contributors to how they were able to manage both roles despite fatigue and irregular working hours. The results of this research give some clues regarding the work-life balance of security guards and serve as a point of reference for expanding institutional assistance, policy making, and welfare schemes for improving professional effectiveness and personal happiness.
