Sleep hygiene and emotional well-being are significant challenges for nursing students, potentially affecting their academic performance. It is crucial for students to maintain good sleep hygiene practices and attend to their emotional well-being to excel in their academic pursuits. The study aimed to investigate the impact of sleep hygiene and emotional well-being on the academic performance of nursing students. The study utilized a quantitative-descriptive correlation research design and was conducted using stratified random sampling. Modified questionnaires were distributed to 273 nursing students across all levels in a reputable tertiary education institution in Misamis Occidental. The results showed that respondents had a high level of adherence to sleep hygiene, and a high level of emotional well-being, and most respondents had a good passing grade percentage in their academic performance. Moreover, there was no significant relationship between the sleep hygiene and emotional well-being in relation to the academic performance of nursing students. The study highlights the significance of sleep hygiene and emotional well-being in supporting academic performance among nursing students, who generally demonstrated high adherence to sleep hygiene practices, especially in sleep duration and quality. Respondents exhibited effective stress management and emotional stability. However, despite achieving good passing grades, no significant relationship was found between sleep hygiene, emotional stability, and academic performance, indicating that other factors may play a more critical role in academic success. Consequently, nursing students should balance good sleep hygiene and emotional well-being with additional academic support strategies to enhance their performance. For future studies, this research suggests exploring additional factors that may influence the academic performance of nursing students, such as study habits, time management skills, social support systems, extracurricular activities, and mental health resources. Additionally, investigating environmental factors, including learning environments and institutional support, could yield valuable insights. Expanding the scope to include these variables will help develop a more comprehensive understanding of the complexities surrounding academic performance among nursing students.
